1. Introduction

Cordial Coparenting LLC (“Cordial,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information when you use the Cordial Coparenting mobile application, the cordialcoparenting.com website, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

Cordial is designed for adult co-parents and other adults managing child-related communications, schedules, records, and organizational information. This Privacy Policy should be read together with our Terms of Use.

2. Who May Use Cordial

Cordial accounts are intended only for users who are at least 18 years old. Children and minors may be referenced in information entered by adult users, but minors may not create or independently operate a Cordial account.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Account and Contact Information

When you create or use an account, we may collect information such as your name, email address, account credentials, phone number if enabled for an account or feature, and information used to connect you with another Cordial user or co-parent.

3.2 Child and Family Information You Choose to Provide

Cordial may allow you to enter information relating to a child, such as a name or nickname, schedules, school information, activities, childcare information, belongings, sizes, favorites, photos, notes, documents, or other parenting-related information. Providing child information is optional unless a particular feature requires it. Cordial does not require a child’s date of birth for the current MVP.

You are responsible for deciding what information to enter and for ensuring that you are legally permitted to provide and share that information through Cordial.

3.3 Messages and Other User Content

We collect and store content that users choose to create, send, upload, or share through Cordial, including messages, calendar entries, proposed schedule changes, notes, screenshots, photographs, PDFs, court-related documents, and other attachments or records.

Attachments are not currently screened by Cordial’s message-safety system unless we expressly state otherwise in the App.

3.4 Camera and Photo Library Access

If you choose to attach a photo or image, Cordial may request permission to access your device camera or selected photos from your photo library. We use that permission only to support the action you request, such as taking or selecting an image to upload. Cordial does not seek access to your entire photo library beyond the permissions granted through your device settings.

3.5 Subscription and Purchase Information

If Cordial offers paid subscriptions or in-app purchases, they may be processed by the applicable app-store provider, such as Apple. Cordial does not receive or store your full payment-card number. We may receive transaction-related information from the provider, such as subscription status, product purchased, transaction identifier, renewal status, or entitlement information needed to provide paid features.

3.6 Device, Technical, and Diagnostic Information

The Services and our service providers may process limited device and technical information needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the App, such as device type, operating system, app version, IP address, authentication events, crash information, error logs, and similar technical data.

3.7 Push Notifications

If you enable push notifications, we may process a device push token and notification preferences so Cordial can alert you about new messages, calendar activity, account activity, or other relevant events. You can control notification permissions through your device settings.

3.8 Location, Contacts, and Advertising Data

Cordial does not intentionally collect or track precise geolocation data and does not require access to your device contacts for the current MVP. Cordial does not display third-party advertising inside the App and does not sell personal information or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Cordial may advertise its own services through external channels such as social media. Advertising Cordial elsewhere does not mean that third-party advertising is shown inside the Cordial App.

3.9 Website Analytics, Cookies, Fonts, and Waitlist Information

When you visit cordialcoparenting.com, Lovable’s built-in website analytics may count visits and identify general traffic-source categories, such as search, social, referral, direct, or advertising links. The website uses a short-lived cookie, currently lasting approximately 30 minutes, to support visit counting. The website and its hosting platform may also process limited technical information that browsers ordinarily provide when requesting a webpage, such as an IP address, browser or device information, requested pages, and referring source.

The website may load Google Fonts. When a browser requests those font files, Google may receive technical request information, which can include the visitor’s IP address and browser information.

If you join the Cordial waitlist, we collect the first name, email address, and role you choose to submit. These details are stored in a Google Sheet with access restricted to Cordial’s authorized administrator and are used to manage the waitlist and communicate about availability or launch. We expect to remove the waitlist after the App launches and delete waitlist information when it is no longer reasonably needed, subject to legal or recordkeeping requirements.

3.10 Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Cordial does not use the website to track visitors across unrelated websites and does not use advertising or social-media tracking pixels on the website. The website does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals or Global Privacy Control signals, and its visit counter may continue to count a visit when a browser sends one. Cordial does not sell personal information or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so those signals do not change these practices.

4. How We Use Information

We may use personal information to:

  • create, authenticate, maintain, and secure user accounts;
  • connect co-parents or other authorized users and provide shared features;
  • send, store, display, organize, and retrieve messages and other User Content;
  • provide calendars, child-related organizational features, attachments, records, and communication exports;
  • provide customer support, investigate reports, and address misuse or security issues;
  • provide and manage subscriptions, entitlements, and paid features;
  • send service-related emails and push notifications;
  • operate, maintain, debug, protect, and improve the Services;
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use;
  • provide optional AI-assisted features as described below; and
  • manage website analytics, operate the waitlist, and send requested launch or availability communications.

5. AI-Assisted Features and Message Processing

Cordial may offer features that use artificial intelligence or automated systems. For users with access to AI-enabled message features, proposed messages may be processed to identify potentially threatening, abusive, derogatory, inflammatory, manipulative, or otherwise harmful language and to provide rephrasing, safety, organization, or suggested-response features. Users without access to those message-analysis features may use Cordial without having their outgoing messages processed by that AI message-review feature.

Cordial may also offer “Ask Cordial,” which can use information already available within the App to respond to user questions or assist with organization. AI-assisted features may change as the product develops and may not use the same provider or processing path for every request.

6. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose personal information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including:

  • to the connected co-parent or other user when you intentionally send, share, or make information available through Cordial;
  • to service providers that help us operate the Services, such as cloud hosting, authentication, storage, notifications, email delivery, artificial-intelligence processing, diagnostics, and payment/subscription infrastructure;
  • to comply with law, legal process, court orders, or lawful government requests;
  • to protect the rights, safety, security, and integrity of Cordial, our users, children, or others; and
  • in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, subject to applicable law.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not permit third-party advertisers to place advertisements inside Cordial.

7. Service Providers

Cordial relies on third-party technology providers to operate the Services. Providers may include Google/Firebase for cloud infrastructure and related App functions; Apple for App Store distribution and in-app purchases; OpenAI and other AI service providers for certain AI-assisted functionality; Lovable for the website and its built-in analytics; and Google for website fonts and waitlist storage. These providers may process information only as needed to provide services to Cordial, subject to their applicable terms and privacy practices.

8. Communication Logs and Email Exports

Cordial may allow you to request or generate a PDF communication log or other export and have it delivered to the email address associated with your account. The export may include messages, dates, timestamps, viewing information, moderation history, attachments, or other records supported by the export feature.

9. Data Retention

We generally retain messages, shared records, and other account content while your Cordial account remains active so that you and your connected user can access communication history and use Cordial’s recordkeeping features.

If you request deletion of your account, we intend to delete or de-identify personal account information within approximately 30 days after the applicable deletion process is completed, subject to the shared-record rules below and any information we must retain for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, enforcement, or other legitimate purposes permitted by law.

Residual copies may remain in encrypted or secure backup systems for up to approximately 90 days before being overwritten or deleted through normal backup cycling. Backup copies are not intended to function as a user-accessible account-recovery archive after permanent account deletion.

Waitlist information is retained while needed to manage launch communications and is intended to be deleted when it is no longer reasonably needed after launch, unless a longer period is required for legal, security, or recordkeeping purposes.

10. Account Deletion and Shared Records

Deleting the Cordial app from your device does not delete your Cordial account or communication history. If you reinstall the App and sign in to an active account, your retained account information may remain available.

You may initiate account deletion from within Cordial. We generally intend to delete or de-identify personal account information within approximately 30 days after the deletion process is completed, subject to the retention and shared-record rules in this Privacy Policy.

Because Cordial communications are shared between users, deleting your account does not necessarily delete copies of messages, attachments, calendar records, or other information that you previously shared with another user. Those records may remain in the other user’s Cordial history where lawful and consistent with the purpose of maintaining that user’s communication record. Cordial may de-identify, detach, or otherwise limit deleted-account profile information associated with retained shared records where appropriate.

11. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, or misuse. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of information transmitted to or stored by the Services.

12. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, which can include rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain information about how personal information is used or disclosed. You may also have the right to appeal certain privacy decisions or to limit certain processing where applicable law provides such rights.

You may exercise available account controls in the App or contact support@cordialcoparenting.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests. We may deny or limit a request where permitted by law, including where information must be retained to protect another user’s rights, comply with law, maintain security, or preserve records that cannot lawfully or reasonably be deleted at the request of only one participant.

13. U.S. State Privacy Rights

Cordial is intended for users in the United States. Residents of California and certain other states may have additional privacy rights under applicable state law. Where those laws apply to Cordial, we will honor applicable rights and provide any notices required by law.

Cordial does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under applicable California privacy law.

To submit a privacy request, contact support@cordialcoparenting.com. We may update this section as Cordial grows, becomes subject to additional state privacy laws, or changes its data practices.

14. Children’s Privacy

Cordial accounts are not offered to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly permit children to create Cordial accounts. Adult users may choose to provide information relating to their children as part of lawful co-parenting activities. If we learn that a minor has independently created an account in violation of our eligibility requirements, we may take steps to close the account and handle associated information as required by law.

We may preserve, use, or disclose information if we reasonably believe doing so is necessary to comply with law or legal process; respond to lawful requests; investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents; enforce our Terms; protect the rights or safety of users, children, Cordial, or others; or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice as required by applicable law, which may include notice in the App, by email, or on our website. The updated policy will identify its effective or last-updated date.
