Questions to ask before choosing an app
“Free” does not always mean the same thing. Before choosing an app, check:
- Is there a permanent free plan, a time-limited trial, or a fee waiver?
- What happens when a trial ends?
- Does each parent need a separate subscription? Can one person pay for both?
- Are messaging, calendars, records, calls, and file storage included, or limited by plan?
- Can you export your information if you stop using the app?
- Does the app fit your family’s communication needs and any requirements in your parenting plan or court order?
If cost is the deciding factor, compare the total cost for both parents—not only the price shown for one account. Also check whether a free option includes the specific tools you need.
Cordial and early access
Cordial is being developed to help co-parents keep communication organized and focused on the children. Cordial plans to make access free during its early-access period while the product is tested and improved with user feedback. Future pricing has not been finalized, and the early-access features may change as development continues.
The right app depends on what your family needs
A co-parenting app can help keep messages, schedules, and child-related information in one place. The best fit depends on which features matter to your family, how each app handles access and records, and what it costs for the people who need to use it.
