About Cordial
I know how exhausting it can be when a conversation about your child turns into a conflict.
I’ve used co-parenting apps, including OurFamilyWizard and TalkingParents. They gave me a place to organize messages and schedules, but I was still struggling with conversations that escalated. I kept looking for ways to make communication calmer and keep the focus on what our child actually needed.
Cordial first took shape in conversations with a close friend. I spent hundreds of hours building a prototype to explore whether it could offer practical support to co-parents navigating high-conflict situations.
One thing that made a meaningful difference for me was using AI to help me pause before responding. It helped me recognize when a message needed an answer, when it could wait, and when replying might pull me into another conflict loop. That changed more than the wording of my messages—it helped me stop reacting and step out of the cycle.
That experience shaped what I want Cordial to do: help parents pause before reacting, flag hostile language before it escalates, and keep important information about their children at the center of the conversation. The goal isn’t to let hostility take over—or to lose the information a parent needs.
I’m continuing to build Cordial from what I’ve learned and what I wish I’d had. My hope is that it helps co-parents communicate with less conflict, find a little more peace, and keep their children’s needs at the center.
